Workshop 1 / June 2023.
Childrens where drawing while listening to the legends from the Valle Verzasca and later crafting cupboard masks corresponding to the legend "The Crusc di Mergoscia" from the Valle Verzasca.

An "inclusive and participatory work" project by the DACD SUPSI Design Institute and the Verzasca Valley Museum, realised by Nathalie Bissig with the children Chiara, Cora, Diego, Elettra, Elisa, Emanuele, Leonardo, Marta, Satayesh, Simon, Zeno.

In collaboration with Verzasca Foto Festival as part of the PATI project Heritage Accessible Inclusive Territory (SUPSI). With the support of the Federal Office for Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (UFPD) and the Verzasca Foundation.

Avec 2 espaces d’exposition temporaires, La Manufacture accueille tout au long de l’année, au cœur du musée, des expositions offrant un regard artistique contemporain sur le textile.

Musée de la mémoire et de la création textile, la Manufacture de Roubaix rassemble le travail de vingt-et-un artistes issus d’horizons culturels éclectiques (France, Belgique, Allemagne, Suède, Bénin, Alaska...) autour du thème du masque et de ses multiples avatars. Sous le commissariat de la plasticienne et photographe Christine Mathieu, c’est ainsi un florilège de regards, de détournements et d’appropriations artistiques qui est présenté au public à travers cette pratique au renouveau sans précédent : l’art textile.

Puisant leur inspiration directement sur le terrain, ou au contact des collections des musées d’ethnographie, nombreux sont en effet les artistes qui explorent les différentes fonctions du masque (travestissement, recouvrement, effacement...) pour mieux interroger leur identité et s’inventer leurs propres rituels.
