In 2019, Ann Griffin and I met during a portfolio review at Verzasca Foto Festival and fell in love with the idea of creating a book about my long-term examination of my origin and its cultural heritage.
Though the seed was planted then, it wasn't until two years ago that we had the strong impulse: now or never!
We found Vexer Verlag with Vera Ida Müller as our publisher, who provided the freedom and support for our experimental ideas."Thunder" guides you on 365 pages through the cycle of a year, blending documentary and staged photography with drawings—without text interruptions. This associative book invites you to enter on any page, as it has no beginning or end.
